Peace Be to the People.
This incoming transmission is coming to you LIVE From The Bear's Den: Digital Edition (my tenative title for these updates & posts. Feel free to call it corny), AKA my bedroom/studio space on a little island off the coast of Georgia, a few nights before December 1st, post-blunt, yet pre-dinner. The weekly Hip Hop Night that my partner in rhymes, Signature, & I run, alongisde the esteemed & immaculate DJ Halftyme Humble, is gonna start gearing up for liftoff in an hour & some change.

WHADDUP INTERNET!?  I hope you're doing well!

It's Your Friendly Neighborhood cunabear™ here!
For those of you who don't know me, I'm a rapper, singer, painter, musician, and Illustrator (both digital & ink-on-paper). I shoot/edit music videos & mini-documentaries on my life/tours/travels, I do a little grapic-design work, I dub cassette tapes for myself & others, I like to hand-paint my own t-shirts/merch (trust me when I say trusting in a place like fourthwall that does that FOR me is SO bizzare- which is why you will see listings for hand-made merch by me in the future)...I DO A LITTLE OF EVERYTHING CREATIVE. All my disciplines come with a heavy-handed self-taught, DIY mentality. That also includes booking my own shows & tours in the indie-rap scene, as well as running the BearTooth Collective.

For the uninitiated, BTC, as I like to abbreviate (fuck Bitcoin, nigga), is an Art & Music Collective with "official members" all across the globe. We help each otherDespite being centered & housed in my tiny lil treehouse on the island & the surrounding local city (s/o CPOTE, 91Deuce all day baby!), the internet has really been what separates us from other crews & collectives because BTC encompasses multiple crews, collectives, indie labels, affiliates, friends, family (both blood & chosen-flavored). As they say, it takes a village. And we take that community ideal seriously.
It should go without saying, but we don't fuck with any homophobes, transphobes, or xenophobes around here, fuck white supremacy, fuck the police, power to the people & to the people all the power. Free all peoples world wide from colonization. BearTooth Colective in all iterations & locations aims to be a safe space for marginalized folks of all kinds, and it is, indeed for the children (Blessings be to the Wu).

WITH THAT BEING SAID. As much as BTC is for the people, it is a real collective of actual friends & family, and we deserve/reserve levels of privacy within' the HQ(s) and online spaces where we do our own thang, BUT we wanna let yall in on the fun & community as well, because without your support we wouldn't be here (Only WE Can Help WE). So consider this fan-club your personal portal into Into The Bear's Den (see what I did there?!) where your support goes a bit beyond the regular album-purchase (that we're all immensely grateful for) & becomes, hopefully, more mutually beneficial.

Welcome to the Bear-Cub Fan Club 3.0! Hopefully this iteration will be the most fruitful.
Some of you may know I've dabbled with subscription/membership clubs in the past as a way to either force myself into a creative flow (with your happiness as fans & customers as motivation to make art) or to try and reward you all with over-the-top promises I wasn't able to deliver on long-term (because, let's face it- content creation to that level is a full-time job AND THEN SOME and it's hard to keep up with demands as a singular artist with no team to back me up in the physical sense. I already had my hands triply full running the BearTooth Collective & my active rap career & my dayjob and I couldn't hack it).

NONE OF THAT IS HAPPENING HERE
Within the trial & error of the previous two attempts I've learned what the best things I can offer you without burning myself out are, and that they mostly entail our own connection as people growing.
So here's what I propose! By joining this Member's Only Fan Club & supporting me + The Beartooth Collective directly I can give you more ways to keep directly in touch with me, some personal artwork, and quicker access to any and everything I'm working on, as well as some other goodies provided by the good folks here at fourthwall that enable things like dope discounts & exclusive merch that I design. I want to focus on simply making dope art & music as much as possible, and showing you all the details while bringing you along for the ride!

I plan to update the website regularly with posts & to send newsletters via email to keep everyone in the loop with all my going's on, as well as open up a discord server just for us to be abel to share music & art and whatever else comes to mind. I hope this life of creativity, music, and fun sounds like something you'd like to support, and if so, Welcome to the Bear-Cub Fan Club!

I'm gonna roll another blunt & head to Hip Hop Night! I hope to see/speak with you soon!

Cheers!

Settling Into Autumn

Hey there, everyone! It's your Friendly Nrighborhood Cunabear here! I hope you all are doing well!

Just wanted to real-talk with you guys about where I've been & what I've been up to lately & "blog" a lil bit, if I may. (Stoney-Brained sidenote, lowkey miss blogging old-school style. Not the like...media blogging, or even old-tumblr blogging. The "internet journal" shit? Ahead of its time. Anyway.)
Honestly the end of summer came to a calm, easing crawl into Autumn for me in ways it feels like never happen enough these days.

For those of you who don't know me IRL, This year I turned 30, fell in love with a gorgeous and kind-hearted woman (& her kickass kiddo), & attempted to merge our families, moved (temporarily) to NY and am currently writing this post from our bed while boo is snoozing on my shoulder. So for such a busy year, it's crawled by during transitionary times.

The cold north approaches soon, I've been writing raps about it at night after putting my household to bed, then making a beat or two, playing through kingdom hearts, applying for day-jobs and then crawling into bed with my beloved after I'm done.

As a self-proclaimed tropical lad, the cold doesn't excite me, as a partner and father, I'd travel anywhere to be with them and help take care of them. And as a rapper and artist, it's new experiences that drive me to write and create more than anything else; this rollercoaster of a life has lent me many of those over the years, but something symbolic about turning 30 and becoming a partner & father has me creatively energized in a brand new light.

Buuuuuuuut alsoooooo partnership & fatherhood are full-time jobs for sure, and I won't pretend they haven't slowed my pace down when it comes to making time for art. I don't think it's a bad thing for me though. I find my storage capacity for ideas has grown enough to when & where it's time I'm able to make progress as it counts to be made.

I'm thinking it'd be cool to take a year to make a project and take a year to promote it. That's kinda what my pace has been leading toward since "Big Sun King", unintentionally so as well until now.
That being said, I've got one out of a few upcoming projects done in every way besides the album art (you'll be getting all the demos for that one soon), and the others have beats chosen and pre-sequenced.
I've had to leave my cassette dubbing equipment back home in GA, along with some other gear and knickknacks, until our time in NY is officially done, so I'm not operating at full capacity and I feel the pull on my ankles, though the chains don't weigh heavily.
We'll get there right on time though, and I'm grateful you guys have stuck with me throughout AI takeovers, Social Media self-destructions, multiple multi-album bandcamp wipes, Spotify + streaming AS A WHOLE and all the BS that comes with it, tours, tapes, paints, records and all that jazz as well.

For what it's worth, I wish I didn't need to charge money for my music and art. In a perfect world capitalism/colonialism/zionism and all its children would choke on their own chodes and we'd all be better off. But reality is I'm an artist in a capitalist world, and I can't feed my babies off thoughts and prayers, and therefore yesterday's price can't be today's price until major changes I'm not in control of singularly can happen consistently. So I appreciate everyone who's subscribed to the website, bought merch, came to a show, or just told a friend about what I've got goin on in the creative world. Many many blessings upon yall for that.

Yall are the shit. I love you all. May you make Today A Great Day. Blessings & Abundance, Beloved.

Thankyou for reading. More updates soon!
